Well Woman Care
One of the primary health services we provide at Madison Women’s Health is the Well Woman Exam, designed to provide an individualized preventative screening for the most common ailments that effect women’s health. This visit includes a clinical breast exam and Pap smear, when appropriate.
We offer our patients the convenience of seeing doctors at Madison Women’s Health for all of their healthcare needs. After selecting one of our OB/GYNs as your Primary Care Physician, you may also visit our Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, Stephanie Brasser, A.P.N.P., for our expanded care services.

Planning For Pregnancy
When pregnancy is planned, there is an opportunity to optimize your health prior to becoming pregnant. This can be beneficial to both you and your baby. For this reason, we ask that you schedule a Preconception Appointment several months before you intend to start trying to become pregnant. Please consult with your insurance provider to see if this service is covered under your plan.
We aim to guide you through every step of your pregnancy with compassion and the highest quality of pre-natal care. If you are having difficulty with the discovery that you are pregnant, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Prior to scheduling your First OB appointment, please jot down the following:
- When your last menstrual period started
- How many days in between periods (the start of one to the start of another)
- When you feel you may have conceived
- When you first had a positive pregnancy test
- Home pregnancy tests are generally very reliable. This does not need to be repeated in our office.
After your first visit, which is generally the longest and most comprehensive, you will have regular visits with your primary physician. While the schedule of visits can be individualized to your particular situation, we generally recommend seeing you once a month for the first two trimesters (until 28 weeks), then every two weeks until the last month. At that point, we will see you weekly until your delivery. In the third trimester, you will have the opportunity to meet the other physicians prior to your anticipated labor and birth.
Our providers are dedicated to tailoring your birth plan specifically to you and your baby.
You’ll have at least one scheduled follow-up appointment with your Madison Women’s Health physicians, normally within six weeks after your delivery.
