Dr. Ashley Durward, FACOG
OBGYN
Dr. Ashley Durward has been providing healthcare to women in Madison since 2015 and joined Madison Women’s Health in 2019, specializing in high and low risk obstetrics, contraception and preconception counseling, management of abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic floor disorders, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
“Women juggle so many complex roles. I enjoy working as an OBGYN because I can help women optimize their health and well-being so they can focus on all of the important things they do. I love that I can take care of women in all stages of life.”
Dr. Durward earned her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, graduating with research distinction, and completed her residency at the University of Wisconsin. During residency she served as Administrative Chief Resident, participated in quality improvement groups at Meriter Hospital, and received the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Outstanding Minimally Invasive Surgery Resident Award.
A native of Illinois, Dr. Durward graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
“I fell in love with Women’s Health while obtaining my nursing degree and this is where I realized I wanted to take care of women in a different capacity—caring for pregnant women and offering gynecologic surgery when needed.”
Dr. Durward lives in Middleton with her husband and 2 sons. She enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends at home or around Madison.
