Dr. Ashley Durward, FACOG
OBGYN
Dr. Ashley Durward has been caring for women in Madison since 2015 and joined Madison Women’s Health in 2019. She specializes in both high- and low-risk obstetrics, complex minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, management of abnormal uterine bleeding, hormone replacement therapy, and contraception.
“Women juggle so many complex roles. I love working as an OB-GYN because I can help women optimize their health and well-being so they can focus on all of the important things they do. It’s a privilege to care for women in every stage of life.”
Dr. Durward earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, graduating with Research Distinction, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Wisconsin, where she served as Chief Resident. During her training, she contributed to quality improvement initiatives at Meriter Hospital and received the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Outstanding Minimally Invasive Surgery Resident Award.
Originally from Illinois, Dr. Durward graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, earning multiple academic honors.
“I fell in love with women’s health during my nursing education. That’s when I realized I wanted to care for women in a different capacity—walking alongside them through pregnancy journeys and providing advanced surgical care when needed.”
Outside of medicine, Dr. Durward finds her greatest joy in being mom to her three boys. She’s a sports enthusiast who loves cooking, the rural Midwest, and spending time with family and friends—at home or exploring all that Wisconsin has to offer.
